Site Perpetration For New Industrial equipment warehouse

Client’s Vision & Needs

A commercial developer purchased a 5-acre tract just outside of Macon, GA, to build a new light-industrial equipment warehouse. The lot was a challenging mix of unmanaged secondary growth, heavy Central Georgia red clay, and an unpredictable slope. The critical hurdles included:

Massive Topsoil Stripping

Over a foot of organic matter and loose topsoil needed to be stripped away to reach the stable clay subgrade required for heavy equipment.

Engineered Compaction

The building pad required strict, documented compaction levels to support thick concrete slabs and heavy machinery without settling.

Erosion Control Strictness

Because the site bordered a local creek, strict state environmental controls required immediate silt fencing and a temporary retention basin.

Timeline & Expectations

Our Plan to Deliver Quality Results on Schedule

  • Erosion Control & Clearing
    Days 1–2

Installed standard silt fencing and established a rock construction entrance. Cleared 5 acres of pine and brush, piling timber for salvage.

  • Topsoil Stripping & Mucking
    Days 3–4

Stripped the organic topsoil layer across the entire footprint and stockpiled it at the rear of the property for future landscaping.

  • Pad Excavation & Compaction
    Days 5–7

Brought in heavy vibratory rollers and a fleet of dump trucks to build the pad in 6-inch lifts, ensuring maximum density for the foundation.

  • Final Subgrade & Silt Basin
    Days 8–10

Cut the final structural grade, excavated the temporary retention pond, and dressed the side slopes to ensure perfect site runoff.
