Land Clearing & Grading for Dream Custom Home
Client’s Vision & Needs
The homeowners purchased a beautiful 3.5-acre lot with plans to build their dream custom home. However, the property was completely choked with a mix of mature timber, heavy oak saplings, and a dense understory of briars and thick brush. The immediate problems they faced were:
Total Lack of Access
The surveyor and foundation teams couldn’t even get onto the property to stake out the home layout.
Massive Stumps
Heavy tree clearing left behind deep root systems directly where the basement and septic tank needed to be excavated.
Uneven Terrain
The natural slope of the lot required structural leveling to prevent future water runoff from draining toward the planned home site.
Our Plan to Deliver Quality Results on Schedule
-
Brush & Undergrowth MulchingDays 1-2
Cleared the dense understory and smaller brush first using a high-flow skid steer mulcher to open up visibility and safe equipment access across all 3.5 acres.
-
Timber Felling & Stump RemovalDays 2-3
Logistically felled the mixed timber. Used a 20-ton excavator to rip out the stumps completely within the building envelope to guarantee a stable foundation footprint.
-
Debris ManagementDay 4
Hauled away large timber logs and piled remaining root/stump debris for clean disposal, leaving the site completely clear of organic clutter.
-
Final Grading & Drainage SetupDay 5
Utilized a bulldozer to execute a smooth, final grade, roughing out the driveway access and sloping the ground away from the future foundation line to ensure perfect drainage.
